Like an ocean wave, we keep moving forward
Big Waves Development is an international team that builds and operates hospitality projects in Bali, looking for balance between comfort, innovation and nature.
From construction to hospitality
Our team has worked in construction since 2012 — residential complexes, villas and commercial buildings. In Bali we brought this experience to hospitality: we choose locations, design, build and then stay with the project as it welcomes guests.
PT Big Waves Development is a foreign-investment company (PT PMA) registered in Indonesia.
The beginning
The team starts working in construction.
AWWA construction
Construction of AWWA Boutique Hotel starts in Canggu.
Hotels open their doors
AWWA welcomes its first guests; Moon Rock Villas move to our own management.
Salt of Virgin
Construction of the beachfront hotel on Virgin Beach, Karangasem.
At Big Waves Development we create more than income-producing square metres. We create spaces where people live real journeys — feel cared for, discover something new in themselves and take home emotions they want to return to long after they leave.
Our main principle is simple: do no harm — to the place, to the person, to the meaning. And if after a stay in our hotel the world has become even a little warmer for someone, we have created something greater than real estate.
Our principles
Put yourself in the customer's shoes
We make decisions by asking how they will feel for a guest or an owner.
Don't be indifferent
We care about every detail — on the construction site and in the hotel.
Be smart
We look for solutions where no rules are written yet.
The people behind the projects
Management, finance, engineering and construction — one team that builds and operates.
